We had a great time visiting Cadillac Ranch while celebrating Christmas in Amarillo with the inlaws. It's a very unique roadside attraction that draws many visitors every year.
Check it out!
It hard to believe he is 8 yrs old already.
We were invited to SeaWorld San Antonio by our friends Steve, Esther, and Sammy for Labor Day. It was a quick trip for us but we had a great time seeing old friends. Presley had been to SeaWorld before when she was little but this was a first for Paxton.
Of course, he had a ton of fun! Enjoy the video.
]]>Paxton is obsessed with American Ninja Warrior on television. We watch every week and he always says "Dad, I want to do that." I had heard a while back that a competitor from the show had a gym in Houston and trained many of the athletes from the show. So I googled it and found that he even has a Mini Ninja program for kids. This was Pax's first session and he is addicted. He can't wait to go back.
We had a great time in Banff. It is definitely one of the most beautiful places we have ever been and are already thinking about going back.
Here are some of the highlights of our trip in a short compilation video. ENJOY!
Paxton takes "The Widowmaker" head on!
We spent the last weekend of Spring Break camping with some longtime friends and met some new friends. For three days we camped, pushed through the wind and rain, rode ATVs, cooked over the campfire and had a blast. And even burned a Christmas that was saved just for this weekend. This was Paxtons first time to ride the ATV with me other than slowly around the neighborhood. So naturally we spent a lot of our time our riding the trails. If we are lucky maybe this will become an annual trip.
We also had a epic snowball fight with fake snowballs. Here is a small clip where Paxton nails my GoPro camera dead on. So much fun!
We will definitely be getting a set of these at our house.
The kids had a fun time playing with their cousins at Jump Street in Dallas to work off some Post Thanksgiving energy.
We had a great time on Opening Day of Texas Renaissance Festival 2015.
Paxton started Taekwondo classes in March and has been progressing nicely. He really likes it and has been doing a great job learning his form and moves.
He had the opportunity to take pictures in his uniform and had fun posing and choosing the background and weapon. It turned out very nice.
He also agreed to take part in a in class tournament to learn how to spar and see if he would like to enter others later on. He ended up doing very well and came home with two 2nd place medals. He beat out a couple of kids who had higher ranked belts than him which really boosted his confidence.
Most recently he officially tested to move up in rank and earned his orange belt. We are looking forward to many more achievements in his Taekwondo class. Full videos of his testing are below.
Fun with my new GoPro Hero 4.
Paxton loves to moo at the cows when we go to the deer lease. He calls them his "cow friends".
Paxton grabbed my phone without me knowing and recorded this great little video.
We had a great Memorial Day Weekend 2014. It's hard to believe that Summer is here already.
First thing Saturday morning Paxton had the last game of his soccer season. His team, the Rocket Ninja Snakes, lost every game but still had lots of fun learning and playing soccer. Paxton ended the season with 3 goals and 7 blocked shots. He was also selected by his coach as Most Valuable Player.
Later on Saturday afternoon we ventured out to Katy Mills Mall for some family shopping and got into this. Kinda creepy to me but Pax had fun riding it.
On Sunday, Paxton and I made a day trip to Brazos Bend State Park to visit with our friends Jamie, Lisa, and Maxx, who were camping for the weekend. We had been here before for a day trip back in 2012 to visit out friends Steve, Esther and Sammy while they were camping also.
We had lots of fun! Highlights were seeing lots of gators while hiking and even getting to touch a baby gator at the Nature Center. And of course the play area with a huge slide and swings was fun too. Notice the "big kids" (aka Jamie and Lisa) going down the slide also.
On short notice Pax and I decided to make a quick run up to Sam Houston National Forest to spend the day with some friends who were camping.
We had a fun day hiking, picking and eating a few fresh dewberries, cooking on the campfire, and just hanging out at the camp.
Like everyone else, Pax really like the movie "Frozen". Can you tell?
Paxton earned his first trip to the emergency room a few days ago after smashing his head on the bathroom sink. He did a great job of being a big boy while getting two staples in his head but afterwards he didn't want any pictures taken. :-)
Paxton requested Rainforest Cafe for his Birthday. Mainly because he knew they had a ice cream & cake volcano. He had a great time!
Paxton enjoying a beautiful Mothers Day afternoon playing with his bubbles.
